Nathan Smith launched a new Lee's Summit web site (http://www.cityofls.net) with departmental content managers. There are about 20 to 30 managers, averaging between two and five managers per department. The technology officer and public information officer resolve disputes and provide oversight.
Sonya Fendorf launched a new City of Shawnee web site (http://www.Cityofshawnee.org) with Lotus Notes-based content management.
The group discussed job security fears as content management is simplified and delegated to non-webmasters.
Discussed issues related to Flash and how to account for the percent of customers who have not adopted Flash.
Eric discussed the process of judging the National Association of Government Webmasters Pinnacle Awards.
NAGW Conference Update
Chris Audano discussed current state of NAGW Annual Conference. So far 131 people have signed up to attend. Voting for Member's Choice Awards is now open. Pinnacle Awards event will be casino-themed. Announced that Martin Drummer will be the new Midwest Region Chairperson.
Favorite Photoshop Tips, Tricks and Methods
Eric Gruber displayed techniques for adding shadows around an entire image, changing the exposure of an image, sharpening and straightening images.
Photoshop Shortcuts
David Eldridge presented numerous Photoshop shortcuts.
