Congratulations to two of the NAGW Pinnacle Award winners for 2008: the City of Independence, MO, and the City of Lawrence, KS.
The City of Lawrence is rolling out a wiki for an alphabetical listing of services and city resources for its residents. Discussion of blogs, wikis and social networking was brought up as a possible future meeting topic for MAGWeb members.
NAGW Update
Chris Audano
Conference images have been uploaded to the NAGW website.
Still working on getting session material uploaded to the site.
Excellent feedback on the sessions for 2008.
A discussion on Twitter was started, and Eric Gruber volunteered to demonstrate this product in the future.
Presentation: NAGW Conference Wrap-up/Q&A/Review
All attending members
The 2008 NAGW conference presented many new contacts, ideas, and materials for all government webmasters to learn from. We brought those newly learned experiences to the MAGWeb meeting and shared them with everyone in attendance. We visited the following sites:
We searched "NAGW" and found several blog entries on this topic.
Fairfax County, VA, has a FaceBook page – how government uses social networking to communicate with the public.
We would like to have a future presentation on Pipes. It is truly amazing.
Closing: NAGW Conference 2009
The NAGW Conference for 2009 will be in Galveston, TX. We watched a video on the hotel (Moody Gardens) and conference accommodations and were led to wonder, "With so much to do in Galveston, who has time for a conference?"
